Baseball: San Clemente (11-0) advances to final in North Carolina
In a battle of Orange County powers, it was San Clemente prevailing over Huntington Beach, 5-1, on Friday in a semifinal game of the National High School Invitational in Cary, N.C.
San Clemente is 11-0 and earned a spot in Saturday’s championship game.
Chris Puckett allowed one run in six innings and Trevor Beard got the save.
Brett O’Toole had three hits for the Tritons, and Beard, William Tribucher, Puckett and Dylan Riddle added two apiece. Landon Silver went two for two for Huntington Beach.
San Clemente will face another California team, College Park from Pleasant Hill, in the final.
