Solomon Bates from Oak Hills threw three shutout innings at the Tournament of Stars in Cary, N.C., featuring top high school players.
San Clemente catcher Luke Herbert had a hit and RBI.
Blake Sabol from Aliso Niguel had two hits for his team.
Kolby Allard from San Clemente struck out two in his one inning of work.
Blake Rutherford from Chaminade and Jordan Myrow from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame are among the many Southland players competing. Devin Davis from Valencia had two hits in the tournament.
