Boys’ basketball: Manhattan Beach residents are coming to downtown L.A. on Friday
There are so many students attending Loyola from Manhattan Beach that the Cubs could probably have a surf team. And whenever the Cubs play Mira Costa in a sporting event, it becomes a big deal.
Loyola and Mira Costa are set to play in a second-round Division 2AA basketball playoff game on Friday night at Loyola. Loyola students can probably catch a ride home with their friends from Mira Costa.
Usually it’s the Loyola-Mira Costa volleyball match that bring out fans en masse.
Manhattan Beach and the South Bay have always been areas for families to send their sons to Loyola.
So get ready for the students to show off their Manhattan Beach lifestyle on both sides of the gym on Friday night. Sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts, tanktops -- Manhattan Beach will come alive near downtown Los Angeles.
