Boys’ basketball: Taft makes positive early impression
Taft basketball appears to be back on its way up based on the Toreadors’ play in the opening week of the season at the Redondo tournament.
Taft won the consolation championship, and what was impressive was the play at guard.
Darius Henderson and Damian Wilson looked comfortable and confident running the team. Coach CJ Williams had to like the chemistry.
There’s still much to improve on, but Taft showed off the potential to be one of the top teams in the City Section. The Toreadors are expected to add 6-foot-8 Travis Patrick when the sitout period for transfers ends on Jan. 6. Another 6-8 transfer, Malik Anderson, also could become available.
