Boys’ basketball: View Park is ready to complete championship in Division V
If the City Section had done an Open Division in basketball and selected the best teams to participate, View Park Prep would have been included even though it’s in Division V this season.
Some people think View Park can compete with Westchester and El Camino Real. View Park is expected to wrap up the City Section Division V championship on Saturday against Douglass in a 10:45 a.m. game at Roybal. The girls’ team plays Douglass at 9 a.m.
View Park is 21-5 and has the City Section’s best center in 6-foot-11 junior Chance Comanche, who’s averaging 19 points.
View Park, which won the Coliseum League championship, will finally start getting tested next week when the state playoffs begin. Pairings will be announced Sunday afternoon.
