Fans attending Friday night’s game between Santa Margarita and host Westlake should bring their binoculars and focus on the quarterbacks and receivers. They will put on a show.

Stanford-bound K.J. Costello of Santa Margarita (3-0) has started the season by throwing 70 passes without an interception. He has passed for 898 yards and nine touchdowns.

St. Francis transfer Dylan Crawford has 10 catches for 240 yards and four touchdowns.

For Westlake (2-1), quarterback Grant Bunker has passed for 623 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions.

Talented receiver Theo Howard has caught 19 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns.

The team that handles Crawford and Howard best should be able to win.

That won’t be easy.
