Football: Brandon Oroxon is set to come to the rescue for Lincoln
Brandon Oroxon is Mighty Tiger at 5-3, 130 pounds
Somebody should lend a white horse to Lincoln High so that 5-foot-3 Brandon Oroxon can ride into the stadium on Friday night in the Kenny Washington Memorial game against Marshall, because he’s coming to rescue the Tigers.
For four weeks, Lincoln (1-3) has been without the speedy Oroxon, a receiver who was so good last season that he was the Northern League offensive player of the year.
But a hamstring injury has kept him on the sideline. Finally, Coach Albert Carrillo said Oroxon is scheduled to come back starting Wednesday in practice and will play against Marshall.
“Thank God,” Carrillo said. “I need that offensive punch.”
The question, though, is will Oroxon be able to turn five-yard catches into 70-yard touchdown runs with his speed?
It should add to the excitement of Friday’s activities.
