Football: Edison, San Clemente gearing up for title runs
Garfield Coach Lorenzo Hernandez knew he’d get answered the question: Who’s better, Edison or San Clemente?
His team lost to San Clemente, 38-22, and lost to Edison, 35-6.
Hernandez said the two schools are even, but Edison has a better secondary and defensive line. San Clemente has a better offensive line and linebackers.
San Clemente (2-0) might not lose all season, because it has left the South Coast League for the Sea View League and left the Pac-5 Division for the Southwest Division. Only Corona del Mar could be standing in the way of an unbeaten season.
Edison (3-0) is in the tougher Sunset League and the more competitive West Valley Division, which includes Upland, Vista Murrieta, Valencia and Mission Viejo.
Edison should find out where it stands in its next two games against Servite and Mater Dei.
