Football: It’s a breakthrough year for teams putting up their statistics
Finally there’s progess being made in football teams learning to post their statistics on the Internet and allowing everyone to see.
In past seasons, teams either didn’t want others to scout them based on statistics or didn’t think it was important enough to let the public and media see who was doing well.
But this season, most of the the remaining teams in the CIF playoffs have their stats up on MaxPreps.com. Certainly helping matters is those with Hudl accounts can get their stats quickly done and posted automatically.
It’s a great way for college recruiters to see how particular players are doing and also for media seeking to spotlight top players.
Whatever the reason for the progess being made, it’s a good sign for the future. Hopefully it sets an example for the basketball and baseball seasons that no one should be afraid to post their statistics.
