Football: Mater Dei defense is in control of Long Beach Poly
Mater Dei’s defense has forced five consecutive three plays and punt against Long Beach Poly, and the Monarchs hold a 20-0 halftime lead in the Pac-5 Division semifinal game. St. John Bosco leads Alemany, 35-14.
Justin Allen has a 75-yard touchdown run and London Iakopo has a 23-yard touchdown catch for the Monarchs, who have three sacks. Ben Humphrey caught a four-yard TD pass with five seconds left in the first half.
