Football: QB Ramon Johnson leads Granada Hills surge
In a season where lots of City Section quarterbacks are playing well, perhaps no one has improved more than 5-foot-10 junior Ramon Johnson, who is leading a Granada Hills surge in City Section Division II.
The Highlanders (4-4, 3-0) appear headed to their first West Valley League title since 1999, and Johnson has been the one igniting the offense.
He has passed for 1,523 yards and 13 touchdowns with just three interceptions.
Xavier Salazar has rushed for 1,014 yards and touchdowns.
Granada Hills’ improvement is going to make it difficult on the City Section seeding committee when the playoff seeds are decided next weekend. San Fernando (8-0) and Eagle Rock (8-0) are unbeaten, but Granada Hills has played a tougher schedule and could end the season on a five-game winning streak.
