Soccer: Irving Arvizu’s goal gives Cathedral 1-0 victory in Florida

There was lots of drama on Thursday for L.A. Cathedral in its opening soccer match of the Montverde tournament in Florida.

Cathedral and Tampa Jesuit were scoreless, and time was running out in regulation.

That’s when junior Irving Arvizu scored with 1:12 left to give the Phantoms a 1-0 victory and advance to Friday’s semifinals.

Cathedral is ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section Division 3.
