Volleyball: Huntington Beach sets national record with 113th consecutive victory
Huntington Beach’s volleyball team now owns the longest winning streak in prep volleyball history.
The Oilers set a national record on Tuesday night by defeating Servite for their 113th consecutive match victory.
The last loss suffered by Huntington Beach was to San Clemente in March of 2013.
“It’s a pretty surreal thinking about how many great teams we’ve played over last four seasons,” Coach Craig Pazanti said earlier this week. “Even on nights when we haven’t played our best we’ve been able to keep it going.”
The Oilers lost the first set, 28-26, to Servite, then rolled to wins, 25-20, 25-13, 25-20.
