Prep baseball: Harvard-Westlake wins Easton tournament championship
No. 1-ranked Harvard-Westlake finished off its first tournament of the season with a championship, knocking off Mission League baseball rival Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 7-1 in the Easton tournament final on Thursday night at Birmingham.
Wolverine pitchers held Notre Dame (4-1) to four hits. Harvard-Westlake (5-0) executed with bunts and received two hits apiece from Michael Snyder, Tyler Cox and Bennett Markinson.
Ryan Reynolds had four RBIs in Simi Valley’s 10-1 win over Birmingham in the third-place game.
Oaks Christian is 4-1 after a 9-2 win over St. Bonaventure. Charlie Adamson went three for three.
Redondo picked up a 1-0 win over El Segundo behind pitcher Jake Thau, who struck out nine.
Garrett Runyan went three for three in Edison’s 3-1 win over JW North.
Eathan Hagen had two hits and two RBIs in Alemany’s 6-2 win over Valencia.
