Pac-12 basketball: Colorado puts away Oregon State
BOULDER, Colo. — Josh Scott and Wesley Gordon combined for 37 points and 26 rebounds to help Colorado withstand a career night from Gary Payton II in a 71-54 victory over Oregon State on Wednesday.
Scott finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Gordon added 12 points and 14 boards for the Buffaloes (13-4, 2-2 Pac-12 Conference).
Payton had a sensational game for Oregon State (11-4, 2-2), with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
A three-pointer by Thomas Akyazili and two free throws from Dominique Collier made it 56-45 for the Buffaloes with 5:49 left.
