WWE Wrestlemania 28 results: Did Brock Lesnar crash the party?
Before he became a champion in UFC, Brock Lesnar was “The Next Big Thing” in pro wrestling. After retiring from UFC last year, the question was, would he become “The Next Big Thing” again?
The Internet rumor train picked up full steam Sunday, when it was learned that Lesnar was in Miami, home of this year’s WWE “WrestleMania” pay-per-view event. Some sites reported that Lesnar was backstage at the event, with speculation being he would interfere in either the Triple H-Undertaker match or the Rock-John Cena match. Did that happen? Let’s take a look at the results:
DANIEL BRYAN VS. SHEAMUS FOR THE WORLD TITLE
Sheamus won the title in 18 seconds with the Brogue kick, disappointing a legion of Daniel Bryan fans, who were hoping to see him display his in-ring skills in a longer match.
RANDY ORTON VS. KANE
Perhaps the most surprising finish of the night, as Kane won clean with a choke slam off the middle rope.CODY RHODES VS. BIG SHOW
Big Show won the Intercontinental title after hitting the Knockout Punch.
BETH PHOENIX & EVE TORRES VS. MARIA MENOUNOS & KELLY KELLY
The celebrity in the match, Menounos, pinned Phoenix with a schoolgirl, meaning the women’s champion can’t beat a celebrity. Way to look strong.
UNDERTAKER VS. HHH IN HELL IN A CELL WITH SHAWN MICHAELS AS REFEREE
Probably the best match you’ll see all year. Undertaker won clean with a tombstone piledriver to improve to 20-0 at WrestleMania.TEAM JOHNNY VS. TEAM TEDDY
Team Johnny won after Eve Torres hit Zack Ryder with a low blow, causing him to be pinned. John Lauriniatis is now the GM of Raw and Smackdown.
CM PUNK VS. CHRIS JERICHO FOR THE WWE TITLE
Punk retained the title with the Anaconda vise.JOHN CENA VS. THE ROCK
The Rock got the win after giving Cena his Rock Bottom finishing move. So, no Lesnar. However, “Monday Night Raw” is live from Miami tonight, so look for an appearance from Lesnar there. The question is, what will his role be, and how long did he sign for?
