Up next for the Kings: Thursday vs. Minnesota
When: 7:30 p.m.
Where: Staples Center.
On the air: TV: FS West; Radio: 1150.
Records: Kings 13-10-4, Wild 18-7-3.
Update: Defenseman Willie Mitchell, who went the thorough all the drills at practice Wednesday, is close to returning to action. “I did some penalty killing, which was important because that’s where you kind of twist and turn and put tension on that groin area little more,” he said. “That was nice to feel fine doing that.” Coach Terry Murray said he would make a decision regarding Mitchell’s game availability after Thursday’s morning skate. Not practicing was forward Justin Williams, who suffered a hand injury in the Ducks game Tuesday. Murray called it a “therapy day” and said he expected Williams to play against the Wild. Murray thought center Mike Richards would be reevaluated by the doctors on Thursday, saying: “He’s progressing, that’s all I can say.” Richards, on injured reserve with what is thought to be a concussion, has missed two games, both Kings losses.
