Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini leaves Tottenham for Galaxy
From White Hart Lane to South Avalon Boulevard.
In other words, Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is moving from Tottenham to the Los Angeles Galaxy, signing with the MLS team on a free transfer. He has a deep reservoir of European experience, ranging from the Serie A in Italy to Britain’s Premier League.
The move means he is set to be reunited with former Spurs teammate Robbie Keane.
Cudicini, who made 37 appearances with the Spurs after joining Tottenham from Chelsea in 2009, turned 39 in September and became expendable with the Spurs’ glut of goalies on the roster. This week, Spurs’ goalie Brad Friedel signed a new contract keeping him at White Hart Lane until 2014.
“We are delighted to be able to add Carlo Cudicini to our roster,” Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena said in a statement on Monday. “Carlo is an experienced and accomplished goalkeeper who we believe will be a great addition to our team and our defensive unit.”
