Michael Vick has a ‘pretty significant’ concussion

Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid says Michael Vick suffered a “pretty significant’ concussion during Sunday’s 38-23 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Reid said he told the quarterback to stay home and rest Monday after Vick complained of a headache and fatigue.

Nick Foles took over at quarterback for the Eagles in the second quarter Sunday and completed 22 of 32 passes for 219 yards, with one touchdown and an interception. He will probably start Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

Vick was knocked on his back by linebacker Ernie Sims on an incomplete pass and was slow to get up. Vick, however, may have been injured on the previous play when he was driven into the ground from behind by Jay Ratliff.

Vick did not talk to reporters afterward but appeared groggy in the locker room.

“I was hoping he’d make it through without having a concussion, but that’s where we sit right now with him,” Reid said.

The Eagles lost their fifth game in a row, putting Reid’s job in jeopardy.
