Update: The Sparks ended a three-game losing streak with a 96-68 win over Washington on Friday. The Sparks will play their final game of a five-game trip against New York before concluding the regular season with a four-game homestand. The Sparks are in second place in the Western Conference, four games behind Minnesota and two games ahead of third-place San Antonio. The Liberty is in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, half a game behind fourth-place Chicago. The top four teams in each conference make the playoffs. The last time the teams played, the Sparks won, 87-62, on Aug. 25. The Liberty is led by Cappie Pondexter, who is averaging 20.3 points, 4.1 assists and four rebounds.
