Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia trying to patch things up

Weeks of snippy comments between Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia gave way to a simple handshake at the driving range Monday.
The scene took place at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania, where the players arrived for this week’s U.S. Open. Asked about any words that might have passed between them, Woods said, “I’m not going there,” according to ESPN.
The dust-up began when the two were paired during the recent Players Championship and Garcia complained that Woods pulled a club from his bag — eliciting a cheer from the gallery — just as Garcia was about to hit a shot.
That started barbs flying back and forth in the days that followed. At one point, Garcia was asked if he might have dinner with Woods during the U.S. Open. He replied: “We’ll have him ‘round every night. We will serve fried chicken.”
Woods took to Twitter, calling the remark “wrong, hurtful and clearly inappropriate.”
Garcia apologized and the golfers have tried to put the incident behind them. Monday marked the first time they had met face-to-face.
Both are scheduled to hold news conferences Tuesday.
