Lakers’ Steve Nash to sit out tonight’s game against Memphis
Lakers guard Steve Nash will sit out Friday’s game at Staples Center against the Memphis Grizzlies because of hamstring and hip soreness.
Nash did not take part in Thursday’s practice or Friday’s shoot-around.
“He was hoping” to play, Lakers Coach Mike D’Antoni said. “He’s just not quite ready.”
D’Antoni said there had not been any setbacks for Nash, who went through an individual workout Thursday at the team’s training facility.
Nash missed the Lakers’ victory against Dallas and sat out parts of two other games before that.
Steve Blake has averaged 10.5 points and one assist the last two games for the Lakers, who currently sit in eighth place in the Western Conference, half a game ahead of Utah.
