NBA roundup: Timberwolves stop Rockets’ win streak

Andrew Wiggins scored 28 points, Karl-Anthony Towns had 23 points and 18 rebounds, and Shabazz Muhammad scored 20 to help the host Minnesota Timberwolves beat Houston, 119-105, on Wednesday night, stopping the Rockets’ win streak at nine games.

Ricky Rubio tied his franchise record with 17 assists to go with 10 points for Minnesota, which led, 89-77, after three quarters and scored the first eight points of the fourth.

James Harden scored 33 points and had 12 assists for Houston.

at Portland 102, Cleveland 86: C.J. McCollum had 27 points and the Trail Blazers beat the Cavaliers for the fourth season in a row at the Moda Center. Portland led by as many as 24 points. LeBron James had 20 points for Cleveland, which lost for the second night in a row.

at Philadelphia 98, New York 97: T.J. McConnell hit a baseline jumper at the buzzer and the 76ers (11-25) surpassed their win total from last season. Joel Embiid had 21 points and 14 rebounds, and Ersan Ilyasova added 16 points for Philadelphia, which rallied from a 17-point deficit to win for the fourth time in five games. Derrick Rose, who was fined for missing the Knicks’ last game with an unexcused absence, scored 25 points.

at Oklahoma City 103, Memphis 95: Russell Westbrook posted his 18th triple-double of the season (24 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists) and the Thunder won their third game in a row.

at Boston 117, Washington 108: Isaiah Thomas scored 20 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter and the Celtics won for the fifth time in six games. Bradley Beal had 35 points for the Wizards.
