Update: The Sparks won on the road for the first time this season Thursday, beating the Tulsa Shock, 94-78. The Sparks are in second place in the Western Conference, one game behind Minnesota going into Saturday’s games and 1 1/2 games ahead of the third-place Mercury. The Sparks have won four games in a row. Diana Taurasi is leading the Mercury with 21.4 points, 5.6 assists and 3.9 rebounds a game. Candace Parker leads the Sparks with 17.7 points and 9.1 rebounds. When the teams played June 14 at Phoenix, the Mercury won, 97-81.
