Germany has just become the first European team in history to win a World Cup in the Americas.
The last time the two teams met in a World Cup final in 1990, the then West Germany defeated Argentina 1-0 with a late penalty kick.
This year, Germany defeated Argentina 1-0.
Fans were anything but silent after the victory. In what has become both the most-watched and most-tweeted sports events in history, it wasn't hard to find fan reactions.Stacey Leasca is a former social media editor at the Los Angeles Times.
