Newspapers around the world had a lot to say about how Germany demolished Brazil, 7-1, in their World Cup semifinal match. Here is a gallery of the headlines from July 9.
Germany got the rout started by scoring a goal in the game’s 11th minute, and went on to score four more before the half-hour mark, following up with two in the second half.
Brazil -- playing without Neymar, its most dangerous striker (he was injured) and without Thiago Silva, its captain and best central defender (he was suspended) -- crumbled. The team scored once in the second half, but it was far too little, too late.
