Want to make Bill Belichick laugh? Suggest benching Tom Brady [Video]

Bill Belichick rarely gives reporters much more than a mumble and a scowl even after big wins.

But one plucky reporter actually got the New England Patriots coach to laugh after a 41-14 loss to Kansas City on Monday night.

"Will the quarterback position be evaluated?" ... HAHA #Patriots #NewEngland

OK, so it was more like a mocking chuckle, but a laugh nonetheless.

The question -- "will the quarterback position be evaluated" -- deserved all the scorn it received. Another reporter had just tried, and failed, to get Belichick to heap praise on backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who led the Patriots on a late touchdown drive after replacing living legend Tom Brady earlier in the fourth quarter long after the game was out of hand.

Sure, Brady and the 2-2 Patriots are having a subpar year, although the season is only a quarter of the way through. The former league MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback is on pace to throw only 16 touchdown passes, which would be his lowest since becoming a starter back in 2001.

And it's nowhere near his 50 touchdown passes in 2007 ... or his 39 in 2011 ... or even his 25 last year.

But to suggest that it may be time to even think about benching Brady for a rookie who threw one touchdown pass during garbage time -- that's, well, laughable.
