It was midway through the final round of the Players Championship when Billy Horschel turned to the gallery, ready to cuss out a fan who had snapped a photo of him mid-swing.

Then he discovered the culprit was an elderly woman.

“I was very nice to her,” Horschel said. “If it was a guy, I would have probably maybe ripped him a new one.”

The distraction caused him to hit left, which led to a bogey on No. 10 and a brief stretch of bad golf that ended any chances of a late charge up the leaderboard. He finished tied for 13th.

When Rickie Fowler scored a dramatic victory a while later, Horschel finally let loose with some foul language -- but in a good way.

“I just said bleeping happy for you,” he said. “You know, bleep bleep stuff and bleep bleep bleep.”
