LeBron James says ‘I’d win’ the dunk contest. Watch the proof [Video]
LeBron James has turned the NBA Slam Dunk Contest into a joke.
Not that it wasn’t pretty much one already, with so many big names not taking part (this year is the first time as many as three All Stars are competing since 1998) and theatrics often favored over simple displays of skill (Blake Griffin and Kia, we’re looking at you).
Seriously, it’s surprising no one has ever attempted a dunk while jumping over a tank of sharks -- the competition itself jumped the shark a long time ago.
Check out the dunking clinic that King James put on after the Miami Heat practice on Monday, showing us what we’ll be missing when the actual dunk competition takes place Saturday without him once again (he has never participated in the event).
And just to save us the trouble, the four-time league MVP stated what we’re all thinking after watching that display:
Someone asked Wade today how LeBron would do in the dunk contest. LeBron cut in and answered for Wade: “I’d win.”— Joseph Goodman (@JoeGoodmanJr) February 10, 2014
So, hey, LeBron ... uh, maybe you should try it sometime. Just a thought.
