LeBron James on Game 7: ‘The moment is going to be grand’

MIAMI -- Barely 12 hours after one of the most stunning outcomes in NBA Finals history, the Miami Heat went back to work.

After all, there’s a Game 7 on Thursday.

LeBron James had 16 points in the fourth quarter of Game 6, pushing the Heat toward a 103-100 overtime victory undoubtedly aided by Ray Allen’s three-point shot with 5.2 seconds left in regulation.

What’s next for James, who finished with 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds? There’s obviously nothing bigger in the NBA than a Game 7 in the Finals, the first he’s ever experienced.

“I understand the moment for me,” he said Wednesday. “I’ve been pretty relaxed, though. I’ve been pretty relaxed throughout the playoffs. I’m going to be antsy, I’m going to be excited. I’m going to have some butterflies. I’ll be nervous. Everything. That’s how I should be.”

“The moment is going to be grand. I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Dwyane Wade will also be part of it, but in what capacity?

Wade had a quiet Game 6, scoring 14 points on six-for-15 shooting, his night affected after banging knees with Manu Ginobili a few minutes into the first quarter. Wade took the hit on his left knee, the one he had surgery on last summer, but not the one bothering him in recent months because of a bone bruise.

So now, basically, he has two sore knees.

“It was stiff,” Wade acknowledged. “I couldn’t do as much as I wanted to do. I just tried to do whatever I could.”

Wade said his left knee was still swollen Wednesday afternoon. He’ll play in Game 7, though.

“There’s one game left,” he said. “Whatever you have inside of you, you muster it up, you give it. So I’ll be fine.”
