Youth coach to be interim Chivas USA head coach Saturday
Chivas USA’s youth-academy coach will serve as the big-league team’s interim head coach for its Major League Soccer game against the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night, Chivas USA said Thursday.
Sacha van der Most, Chivas USA’s youth academy director of soccer, will guide Chivas USA in the game at Home Depot Center, which is scheduled to be renamed StubHub Center starting Saturday.
After Saturday, Jose Luis Real Casillas, 60, will take over as the club’s head coach. He was hired after Chivas USA dismissed Jose Luis Sanchez Sola on Wednesday.
Chivas USA is 3-7-2 in MLS play this season and in last place in the Western Conference.
The team’s game Saturday against the Sounders starts at 7:30 p.m.
