Poll: Do you like the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers helmet and logo?
If you’re an NFL team, bigger is usually better, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took it to heart and head with the unveiling of their new helmet and logo on Thursday.
Remember, it’s not a “redesigned” logo. It’s an “enhanced” version. The new helmet, with bolder red and pewter, does feature a chrome-colored facemask, which will be a first in the NFL. The team’s official release also states that “the skull is modernized and he looks meaner.”
Buccaneers Co-Chairman Edward Glazer said in the release:
“This is an exciting day for the entire Buccaneers organization as we begin the process of introducing our new look by revealing an enhanced logo and new helmet design. The logo is much larger and portrays a more intimidating presence, while the chrome facemask is the first used by an NFL team. This is the first alteration to our logo and helmet since the previous redesign 17 years ago and we believe it sets the stage for our transition into this new, exciting era of Buccaneers football.”
Tampa Bay is not done with the enhancements. The team’s new uniform will be unveiled March 5. The club’s official release reminds fans about the availability of new merchandise.
