Watch Tim McCarver’s emotional farewell to TV viewers
Love him or hate him, Tim McCarver has left an imprint on baseball through his years as a player and as a TV analyst. Earlier this year, he announced he would be leaving Fox for other ventures, with the final game of the World Series being his final game for Fox, for whom he has been broadcasting since 1996.
Wednesday night was the final game of the World Series, with the Boston Red Sox defeating the St. Louis Cardinals to become champions again. After the Champagne was sprayed, after the postgame interviews were conducted, we were left with the vision of two men in the booth: McCarver and play-by-play man Joe Buck.
The two men, near tears, discussed McCarver’s legacy as an analyst and what each meant to the other. It was a nice, emotional moment, and you can watch it in the video above.
