UCLA football: Linebacker Eric Kendricks to miss Sun Bowl
UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks will have ankle surgery Friday, leaving the Bruins without their leading tackler against Virginia Tech in the Hyundai Sun Bowl.
Kendricks had ankle surgery last summer, which slowed him during training camp. During the season, he battled through back and shoulder injuries. He led the team with 106 tackles, which was the third-most in the Pac-12.

He has not been able to practice since the USC game on Nov. 30. Freshman Isaako Savaiinaea has been practicing in his place.
