National signing day: USC adds offensive lineman Damien Mama
One down, two to go.
USC went into Wednesday’s national signing day hoping to land Bellflower St. John Bosco offensive lineman Damien Mama, Long Beach Poly receiver/defensive back John “Juju” Smith and Gardena Serra receiver/defensive back Adoree’ Jackson.
Mama announced he would attend USC and the school announced he had signed a letter of intent.
The 6-foot-5, 370-pound Mama is the second player from undefeated St. John Bosco to sign with the Trojans, joining defensive end/linebacker Malik Dorton.
“Damien is a massive guy, but for how big he is, he carries his weight really well,” USC Coach Steve Sarkisian said on USC’s website.
“He is a force in the interior of the line, and the kind of guy you love to run behind.”
