Freshman JuJu Smith impresses in USC opener
USC freshman JuJu Smith talks about his Week 1 performance against Fresno State with Lindsey Thiry
USC fans are used to watching jersey No. 9 fly around on offense. Biletnikoff Award winner Marqise Lee wore it the last three seasons.
But there’s a new No. 9 in town.
It’s receiver JuJu Smith, and the freshman impressed early in the Trojans’ 52-13 victory over Fresno State.
“When I came out here, it was just like practice and I did what I had to do,” Smith said.
Smith caught four passes for 123 yards.
“Coach just said come out here and play,” Smith said.
Smith was among 11 freshmen who played in the opener for USC.
