Last week, Thai Airways received its first Airbus A380, the world’s largest commercial airplane. When the Asian carrier’s A380 enters service on Saturday, it will become the ninth airline to fly the super-jumbo jet.
Since its debut in 2007, the plane has attracted much attention because of its size and the innovations airlines have introduced onboard. Some airports, including LAX, have had to remodel their terminals to accommodate the girth of the plane. Singapore Airlines introduced enclosed suites in its A380. Emirates’s A380 has a shower.
