A Salvadoran’s heartfelt thanks, Marina Ritz warning
A Salvadoran’s heartfelt thanks
I am a native of El Salvador. My friends do not believe how beautiful the country is.
I want to thank you for “Latin Revelation” [Oct. 7]. I could not have said it better and described El Pital as well as you did.

Putting on the Ritz? Hardly
I am writing from my room at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, where I stayed last night [“A Ritz Still in Its Awkward Years,” Hotel Review, Sept. 30]. It has been a miserable stay. The food and service at Jer-Ne were horrendous, and even the restroom was dirty and had no towels.

Family at home on the range
I enjoyed your article on Rankin Ranch [“Horseshoes and Hayrides,” Sept. 30]. I vacationed there a few years ago with my daughter and 12-year-old grandson, who adored everything about it. I highly recommend it as a family vacation spot.

Don’t tempt pickpockets
Two weeks ago on the Paris subway, thieves picked my pocket. I reported it to police, who told me thieves are well organized and look for tourists who carry their wallets in their back pockets.
