Halloween pumpkins inspire more than just jack o’ lanterns
Pumpkins are rock stars at this time of year, not just for Halloween but for Thanksgiving too. But how many pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin pies can one consume? Here are some other ways to get a pumpkin fix, near and far.
The shortest trip (if you’re in L.A.) is to the Lexington Social House at 1718 Vine St., Hollywood, for a Great Pumpkin. This isn’t a screening of the Charlie Brown classic but a bright orange cocktail with vodka, pumpkin syrup, Baileys and cream that costs $14.
And there are plenty of choices for those who want calorie-free experiences. The Spa at Trump Las Vegas has a Pumpkin Spice Pedicure that starts with a pumpkin soak and ends with a vanilla sugar scrub for $60.
Spa L’Auberge at L’Auberge Del Mar in Del Mar, Calif., offers a Pumpkin Body Wrap that’s caffeinated, followed by a massage with pumpkin butter. $160 for 80 minutes; $215 for 110 minutes.
Get a Pumpkin Facial or a Pumpkin Sprinkle Body Treatment while visiting the Silverado Resort and Spa ($130 facial or a pumpkin sprinkle body treatment) in Napa, Calif. The body treatment mixes in other flavors -- a cranberry pomegranate sugar scrub -- before slathering up with pumpkin cream.
