Daily Deal: Joie de Vivre opens Honolulu hotel with $159 rooms
Boutique hotel chain Joie de Vivre is opening its second hotel in Honolulu, the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki. The 135-room hotel has a splashy ‘70s-inspired decor and an introductory room rate of $159 a night.
The deal: The hotel joins the Coconut Waikiki Hotel as the San Francisco-based brand’s entry into the Hawaii market. The Shoreline, formerly the Seaside Hotel, is a few blocks from the beach at 342 Seaside Ave. It has been open to guests, but the official opening is set for May 1.
Designer Anthony Laurino selected the splashes of colorful shapes and accents inside and out and the “sea foam and warm tangerine” room colors, a hotel announcement says. Rooms come with free Wi-Fi, mini fridges and microwaves as well as individual balconies.
When: The offer is good through May 31 for stays through Dec. 31.
Tested: I found a room at the $159 rate available on dates that I tried throughout the year. After the end of May, room prices will start at $199 a night.
