Waikiki plans to celebrate the Fourth of July with a giant fireworks display launched from three platforms.
All the platforms will be in Ala Moana Beach Park, and the free show is set for 8:30 p.m. on Independence Day. Open seating is to be available atop the Ala Moana Center’s Makai-Ewa parking deck on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 4 p.m.
There’s also to be live entertainment throughout the extended Fourth of July weekend. (July 4 is a Thursday.)
Ala Moana mall merchants will offer special savings between July 4 and 7. More than 45 merchants will be honoring the “20% Savings Pass, ” which entitles guests to 20% off the purchase of a single, regular-priced item at each store each day. The pass is available at the mall’s customer service center in the food court.
A variety of other holiday activities are listed on the City and County of Honolulu’s website.
