Reporting from Las Vegas — The first magician to win NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” lands his own show coming to The Linq this summer.
Mat Franco won season nine of the series with his playful style and lots of interaction with the audience. The 26-year-old Rhode Island native takes over the about-to-be renovated Linq Theater at the resort that hosts Guy Fieri’s restaurant and O’Sheas, the Irish casino.
Franco returns to NBC for a series of specials dubbed “Mat Franco’s Got Talent,” coinciding with his show. He’ll travel across America in preparation for his show opening, performing magic for celebrities, family and friends.
Franco taught himself magic and by age 10 created his own shows. By 15, he was performing at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He honed his improvisational style mainly as a college act.
Tickets go on sale April 22. The show opens June 24.
Tickets: The Linq box office, (855) 234-7469
