Biz News: Real estate luncheon collects $550,000 for O.C. veterans

The Newport Beach-based Orange County Community Foundation, alongside county real estate companies and financial institutions, raised more than $550,000 to help county veterans, according to a news release.

The money was gathered April 21 at the Orange County Real Estate Luncheon at the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel in Costa Mesa.

Retired Navy Adm. Mike Mullen, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke during the luncheon.

Irvine software company to be bought by investment firm

Clearlake Capital Group, a private investment firm based in Santa Monica, said Thursday that it has agreed to buy Irvine-based Vision Solutions Inc. from Thoma Bravo LLC.

Financial terms were not announced.

Vision Solutions provides software designed to protect data and deliver data sharing across multiple operating systems.

Irvine-based Arbitech to move to larger headquarters

Arbitech, a distributor of servers, storage, networking and mobile products, plans to move within Irvine to a new headquarters and distribution facility.

The company, currently based at 15330 Barranca Pkwy., has signed a lease for a larger building at 64 Fairbanks.

According to company officials, construction work needed on the new facility is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with relocation scheduled for the first quarter of 2017.

“As our business has continued to grow and diversify, it became crucial to find a facility that would accommodate our expansion,” Frank Llaca, Arbitech’s president, said in a statement. “The new headquarters not only provides increased square footage but also allows the company to maintain its vibrant culture.”

Greenwave signs lease for 200 Spectrum Center

Greenwave Systems has signed a lease to rent the 15th floor of a new 21-story office building near the Irvine Spectrum Center.

The software and services company will use its 22,150-square-foot space at 200 Spectrum Center as its Southern California headquarters.

“We are growing at a rapid and exciting pace and we’re looking for the best talent in the industry,” Martin Manniche, founder, chairman and chief executive of Greenwave, said in a statement. “This building offers a state-of-the-art space and has the right footprint for our growing U.S. operations. It has the type of amenities that will attract world-class talent and it will enable us to create a contemporary work environment that will inspire our team to keep innovating.”

Greenwave will move this fall from its current space at Irvine’s Corporate Business Center on Technology Drive.

Mother’s Market raises money for autism

Mother’s Market & Kitchen in Costa Mesa helped raise $1,000 for autism programs last month.

The store donated a portion of the proceeds from juice bar purchases each Tuesday in April as part of Autism Awareness Month.

Irvine’s California Republic Bancorp acquired by Mechanics Bank

Irvine-based California Republic Bancorp was recently acquired by Mechanics Bank, based in Walnut Creek in Northern California.

California Republic Bancorp has about 500 employees and five locations in Southern California. None of the branches will close.

The company had an estimated $1.8 billion in assets as of March 31, according to a news release.
